24 Apr A Romantic September Wedding from Ontario to the Texas Hill Country
There’s something undeniably enchanting about wedding days that travel both in place and in spirit. On a crisp September afternoon, I photographed a deeply meaningful celebration that unfolded in three beautiful stages:
First Stop: A Charming Home Ceremony in Oakville
The day began with an intimate Chinese ceremony held at the couple’s home at 110 Marvin Avenue in Oakville. Surrounded by loving family, we captured heartfelt moments both inside and outdoors before transitioning to their next stop.
Sweet Moments at Shell Park with Their Pup
Next, we drove to Shell Park (3307 Lakeshore Rd W), where the couple posed with their beloved dog—adorably holding a tiny “I do too” sign. Despite the chilly weather, the warmth between them—and that pup!—made these portraits irresistibly personal.
The Grand Finale at Willow Springs Winery
The afternoon’s final destination was Willow Springs Winery (5572 Bethesda Rd, Whitchurch-Stouffville), a picturesque vineyard venue nestled atop the Oak Ridges Moraine. With its verdant Testa vineyard, rolling hills, and rustic charm, Willow Springs creates breathtaking backdrops that feel both grand and intimate. Award-winning wines and serene willow trees add to the romantic ambiance—a true delight for couples and photographers alike.
Under the golden light of early evening, I captured their “first look,” heartfelt ceremony, family portraits, and even nighttime sky shots that glowed with intimacy.
Enter Texas: Comparable Hill Country Venue Inspiration
Since moving my photography home base to Austin and the Texas Hill Country, I continue to draw inspiration from wineries and vineyard venues—and one especially stands out as a Texas analog to Willow Springs:
The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge – Just 10 minutes south of downtown Austin
Set across 53 acres of wildflower-dotted fields, live oaks, and a California-inspired vineyard landscape, The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge blends natural charm with timeless romance. With its rustic stonework, sweeping views, and secluded estate feel, it’s a dream venue—perfect for intimate ceremonies, portrait sessions, and cozy celebrations.
The Hill Country also boasts other gorgeous vineyard venues such as Duchman Family Winery in Driftwood and Camp Lucy’s working vineyard in Dripping Springs, offering elegant open-air ceremonies and luxurious amenities.
Why This Story Matters for My Texas Couples
This wedding’s journey—from Oakville home’s tradition, to Shell Park’s playful season with a pup, to Willow Springs Winery’s timeless romance—paints the full spectrum of a love story. It’s exactly the kind of narrative I bring to my Texas couples: authentic, emotional, and visually beautiful.
If you’re planning your Austin or Texas Hill Country wedding, whether it’s in a vineyard, under oaks, or among wildflowers—let’s capture your story with the same warmth and artistry. I’d love to bring that Ontario-inspired magic to your day here in Texas.
