05 Jul Tequila Ranch Wedding | Stacey & Marcus | Austin Wedding Photographer
There are some weddings that feel less like an event and more like one big celebration of family, and Stacey and Marcus’ April wedding at Tequila Ranch in Taylor, Texas was exactly that.
Their day was joyful, relaxed, personal, and full of so many wonderful family moments. One of my favorite things about their wedding was seeing not only Stacey and Marcus come together as husband and wife, but watching their children become one family too. With their kids standing beside them, two absolutely adorable flower girls, and so many friends and relatives there to celebrate, the whole day had such a warm and genuine feeling.
A Beautiful Spring Wedding at Tequila Ranch in Taylor, TX
Located in Taylor, Texas, just outside the Austin area, Tequila Ranch Events is a beautiful choice for couples looking for a rustic Central Texas wedding venue surrounded by open countryside.
The property sits among fields of corn, cotton and Texas wildflowers and combines a covered outdoor ceremony area with a rustic reclaimed-wood barn for the reception. The venue can accommodate weddings of up to 150 guests and also offers climate-controlled indoor space, outdoor event areas and on-site lodging. Tequila Ranch Events
From a wedding photography perspective, I especially love the variety here. The open landscape gives you that unmistakable Texas feeling, while the wooden structures, fences, barn textures and wide skies create plenty of different backgrounds throughout the wedding day.
For Stacey and Marcus’ April wedding, the spring greenery and dramatic Texas sky were particularly beautiful.
A Wedding Centered Around Family
Family was really at the heart of this wedding.
Stacey looked beautiful surrounded by the children before the ceremony, and I loved photographing all of the different personalities within their family. Their two little flower girls were especially sweet in their soft green floral dresses, and there were so many spontaneous expressions throughout the day.
Those are often some of my favorite wedding photographs — not necessarily the perfectly posed moments, but the quick smiles, laughter, hugs and interactions that happen naturally between family members.
Stacey and Marcus were creating something bigger than a wedding day. They were celebrating the beginning of their married life while also bringing their families together, and you could feel that throughout the ceremony.
An Outdoor Ceremony Under the Texas Sky
The ceremony took place in Tequila Ranch’s covered outdoor ceremony space overlooking the surrounding fields.
The simple wooden ceremony arch decorated with white flowers, greenery and softly draped fabric fit the setting perfectly. Stacey’s classic white gown looked beautiful against the natural landscape, while Marcus’ deep green suit coordinated perfectly with the bridesmaids’ dresses and the overall spring color palette.
I loved how open the ceremony felt. Tequila Ranch gives couples the feeling of an outdoor Texas wedding while still providing overhead coverage — something that can be incredibly valuable with our unpredictable Central Texas weather.
As the ceremony progressed, the clouds began to break and sunlight came through across the fields. It created beautiful natural light just as Stacey and Marcus walked back down the aisle together as newlyweds.
Rustic Texas Wedding Details
The reception carried the ranch feeling into the details as well.
One of my favorite decorations was the floral arrangement displayed inside a pair of brown cowboy boots on the sweetheart table. White roses, baby’s breath, eucalyptus and candles kept everything elegant while still feeling completely appropriate for a relaxed Texas ranch wedding.
Inside, the reclaimed-wood barn provided a completely different atmosphere from the bright outdoor ceremony. Exposed wooden beams, rustic walls, string lights and large chandeliers created a warm backdrop for dinner and the reception. Tequila Ranch also has built-in dance-floor lighting and a handmade wooden bar, which makes the transition from dinner into the evening celebration easy. Tequila Ranch Events
And Then Came the Dancing…
Once the formalities were over, this group was ready to have fun.
The dance floor stayed busy, and I loved photographing Stacey laughing and dancing with friends and family. These are the parts of a wedding day when I stop thinking about poses altogether and simply watch for reactions.
Big laughs, unexpected dance moves, people catching one another’s eye across the room — those moments tell you so much about how the wedding actually felt.
And Stacey and Marcus’ wedding felt happy.
Very happy.
Wedding Photography at Tequila Ranch
Tequila Ranch is a particularly fun venue to photograph because couples can have very different looks without leaving the property.
There is the open countryside and wide Texas sky for portraits, the covered outdoor ceremony pavilion, rustic fencing, the barn interior, vintage ranch details and plenty of natural textures throughout the property. The venue also allows couples access to the property for photographs, giving photographers plenty of flexibility throughout the day. Tequila Ranch Events
For couples planning a Tequila Ranch wedding in Taylor, Texas, I would definitely recommend allowing a little time around golden hour for portraits outside. The open fields can produce especially beautiful light as the sun begins to get lower.
Congratulations, Stacey & Marcus!
